Dan Sibanda became District A711 Governor (2019-2020) in Milan, Italy, on July 5, 2019. A Lion for over 34 years, he is a proud member of Mississauga Cooksville Lions Club in the Greater Toronto Area.

Lion Dan has a deep passion for service that is rooted in his upbringing. As a child, he watched his dad’s love for humanity at play, when he helped strangers and the less fortunate.

A past District GLT Coordinator and Multiple District GMT Coordinator, he has been involved in leadership development and membership development at both District and Multiple District level for over 10 years.

Lion Dan has received numerous International Presidential Awards and Certificates of Appreciation. As District Governor, he received his second Leadership Medal and the District Governor’s Extension Award.

Lion Dan and his spouse Lion Phoebe are partners in service. Lion Phoebe is a District Committee Chair, Leo Advisor and a past Region 6 Chair.

They are also both involved in community activities in their community – charitable organizations and church. They are parents to three adult children and proud grandparents to one.

Lion Dan was a Director at Carassauga Festival of Cultures for 6 years (2002 – 2008), and has served numerous terms as a member of the Elder Nomination Committee at Portico Community Church, Mississauga.

On a professional level, Dan is a licensed Professional Engineer (Ontario) and a Chartered Engineer (UK). He holds a Master’s degree in Business Leadership, majoring in Business Strategy.
